Hiking on the ridges of Villefort in the national park of Cevennes
Just before sunset I am on the height of Lake Villefort, in the Cevennes National Park (France). There was a lot of cloud, so I figured I would go up to the rocks, to install my camera on his tripod, in order to take photographs for a timelapse. I had already come here in August, one morning, but now it was January, at the end of the day. Also the colors were a little different.
I left the charming little village “Le Pouget” all stone granite and lauze. It is located on a spur overlooking the Palhères, consisting of 4 large farms with closed court, built in the 17th or 18th century, all classified heritage. This place called on the commune of Pourcharesses had long since been abandoned. It has been restored by the association European Village.
I followed the path in the direction of the cross of Gratassac and settled in the rocks above the lake of Villefort.
For the return to the Pouget, by the same path it was night. I had taken my headlight Petzl, but I only lit it occasionally. Along the path, in the woods, I had never seen so many eyes staring at me and running away. Anyway, I felt like an intruder at night.
