Rainy day in beautiful countryside of Kyoto.

The second day of my arrival in Kyoto, a typhoon was in the process of come. But that is not the typhoon will disrupt my visits, so  I put a waterproof cover on my camera and I took some cotton fabrics to wipe the lens, because with the warmth and ambient humidity, condensation come very quickly.

The access to the entrance of my hotel was by Kyoto Station, so it was very convenient for all transportation.

One thing was certain, is that there were not many tourists, just the persevering like me. For visits that I had set that day, I use the bus. They are right in front of the station. The municipal office bus is in front of Kyoto Station. Here you can obtain a copy of the plan of city buses (Bus Navi), also available at the Tourism Information Center.

You buy a pass for a day for buses or for a combination bus – metro. These passes can be purchased at the Municipal Office of bus and in subway stations across close to those who sell the usual tickets. Book of tickets “Kai su ken” of bus giving a slight reduction can be bought directly from the bus drivers.

I have going to Arashiyama (嵐山) which is a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto. The Togetsukyo Bridge is Arashiyama’s well known, central landmark. There are many small shops, restaurants and other attractions are found nearby, including Tenryuji Temple, Arashiyama’s famous bamboo groves.

After, I have going to Tenryuji (天龍寺, Tenryūji) which is the most important temple in Kyoto’s Arashiyama district. It was ranked first among the city’s five great Zen temples, and is now registered as a world heritage site. Tenryuji is the head temple of its own school within the Rinzai Zen sect of Japanese Buddhism.

Kyoto is in the rain can not be as beautiful as during the autumn season that allows to appreciate the changing colors of the leaves, especially those of maples, but I was very happy with this visit day. To succeed in taking photographs, you just have to be a little “acrobat” and to be great in juggling with the bag photos, the camera and lens, umbrella, tissues to wipe the lens constantly.
